FAQ

A:  Yes, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required on all mounts.
Q: What is slippage?
A:  Slippage is a condition caused by bacterial that live on the skin.  When the animal dies, bacteria begin to attack the skin and hair follicles.  As the bacteria feed on the skin surrounding the follicles, the hair shaft becomes loose and will detach from the skin.  Once this process has happened there is no way to correct the damage.  This can be prevented by using proper field care procedures.  Always freeze your trophy immediately!

A:  No matter what animal you are planning to mount, taking the time to prep your trophy is essential to the quality of the finished mount. If the animal is still warm, do not seal it in plastic. It will sweat and allow bacteria to grow while it is freezing. Place your trophy in the plastic bag but do not tie or close the bag until the animal is completely frozen. This can take several hours. Once the animal is frozen, air becomes the enemy! Wrap the animal snugly in plastic. The cold air dries out the delicate skin around the eyes, mouth, nose, ears, and feet which causes freezer burn. Plastic will prevent air from contacting the animal while in the freezer. Large animals can be double bagged using large black trash bags. Small animals such as squirrels and birds can be stored in large ziplock freezer bags. Fish should be wrapped in a wet towel first, then placed in plastic. The fins should be flat and close to the body. Do not use newspaper, wax paper, or freezer paper.
A: In most cases, yes.  Depending on the severity most cuts and wounds can be fixed;however, this process is not included in standard pricing and will be priced accordingly.
