You have killed your trophy! You are SO PROUD! You want to show it off, maybe ride it around in the bed of the truck to show your buddies. BAD IDEA!
The final quality of your mount begins with you!
Animal tissue will begin to break down immediately after the kill even in cold temperatures. Heat accelerates the break down process. The animal should never be allowed to get warm to the touch. In order to preserve the integrity of your trophy and prevent hair loss and slippage, cape and freeze your kill immediately.

Your trophy should be brought to us as soon as possible. The longer an animal is stored in the freezer, the drier the skin will become which will create freezer burn. In some but not all cases this can be corrected. The sooner the animal is brought to us the more likely this can be prevented.
Proper care is essential to the quality of your hide. Occasionally a hide may not tan or will "slip" during the mounting process due to improper care. There is no way for us to verify how the animal was cared for before reaching our shop. For this reason, we will not be responsible for any damages or loss of hide.
